Eigenwelt Labs

An open-source foundation for law firms to turn their knowledge into action, retain control of their AI, and build expertise that compounds with every matter.

About the project

What if every matter made a law firm smarter? Legal expertise accumulates in contracts, emails, redlines and decisions, yet putting that experience to work requires people to reconstruct context across fragmented systems. Our vision is a law firm that remembers its work, acts across its tools and improves through expert feedback.

Eigenwelt Labs is building that foundation through LegalWork and LegalMemory. LegalWork is an open-source legal workspace combining document review and drafting with reusable workflows and computer and browser use. LegalMemory connects documents, matters, parties and versions through structured knowledge and graph retrieval, so agents can work with relevant context and trace their outputs to sources.

The project already serves hundreds of users and multiple law-firm clients. The ambition is to make institutional expertise an asset that compounds through everyday work. The community can improve shared software and reusable workflows, while each firm retains control over its private knowledge, deployment and evaluation standards. Lawyers shape the system through their judgment and corrections, building toward AI that reflects how their own firm works.

In the team's words

We believe the next generation of law firms should own and continually improve their AI. Every matter, negotiation and expert correction should contribute to an institutional capability that compounds over time.

We are entering the award to demonstrate the foundations of that vision: open-source legal software, agents that work across real applications, and structured knowledge that makes a firm's experience usable. We want to bring lawyers, developers and researchers into a shared ecosystem, and connect with firms willing to evaluate these tools on real work and their own standards. Recognition would help accelerate that community and the practical adoption of AI that firms can inspect, adapt and control.
